Spring is a time of rebirth and renewal. Humans, animals and plants are gently waking up from our winter hibernation and we're outside more, moving more and want to eat more fresh, raw foods as we transition into summer!
Eating seasonal foods is healthy for you, your wallet and your local farmers.
You can't go wrong with steamed veggies and a lean protein for a simple meal, so don't overthink it or get nervous if you're trying a new veggie or fruit. That's the fun part :)
So, what foods are in season during the Spring months?
Some recipe ideas for Spring could be:
- Baked wild, Alaskan Salmon with roasted asparagus and cauliflower mash
- Roasted chicken with sautéed fiddlehead ferns and morel mushrooms
- Endive "tacos" with browned bison, tomatoes, guacamole and black olives
