We want to create an interactive online community that focuses on the promotion of whole health and prevention of disease through diet, lifestyle and integrative medicine.

Our Mission

Our mission is twofold:

  1. to educate the general public on the power of food as medicine and the power of simple lifestyle choices for optimum health directly from leaders in the integrative medicine field today. We believe reliable health information should be available to all and should be able to be accessed at the person's own pace. Start learning now.
  2. to provide a community where integrative health practitioners can come together, get support and create thriving practices while also providing opportunities where practitioners can gain more exposure for their practices. Everyone has a unique voice in integrative medicine; let your voice be heard! Go to our practitioner forum.

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.

Our founder and CEO, Kristen McElveen, ND

Meet our Founder and CEO:

Dr. Kristen McElveen is a naturopathic doctor who graduated from NUNM in Portland, OR in 2007. After two years of residency, she went into private practice in Southern Maine from 2009 to 2015. Frustrated by the lack of business and professional support for NDs as well as lack of awareness of the naturopathic profession outside of the school states (WA, OR, CT, AZ), she decided to dedicate herself full-time to creating a community that helps to bring awareness to the naturopathic community via public outreach, helps to bridge the gap between NDs and other integrative practitioners and helps to guide NDs and other integrative health practitioners in business, marketing and social media. What inspired the idea of this site was the popularity and feedback from her first book, Tips on Creating a Successful Naturopathic Practice, published in 2013. She lives with two extremely gifted and moderately aloof felines, Brody & Bella, and when she isn't online working on this site or teaching, she's likely attending a Broadway show, writing or painting things she sees in her microscope.
